AWCB EVENTS FOR OUR WORKING WOMEN (WWG) MEMBERS

The AWCB recognizes that for many of our members who work full-time, it is difficult to get to the Clubhouse during our regular opening hours (Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm).  While many of our activities (e.g., Library, DVD, Café, Gift Boutique) are limited to these hours, there are many Club activities which occur in the evenings and on weekends, outside the traditional working day.

We hope our WWG members will take advantage of these events throughout the year - either as active participants or volunteers!

Please feel free to get in touch with the organizers of these groups (email addresses below) to learn more.  AWCB members will learn more about the specific events offered by these groups in our regular email updates from the Club.

  • Holiday Bazaar: The AWCB Holiday Bazaar, held on a weekend each November is widely regarded as one of the best holiday markets in Brussels. Over 100 vendors sell unique, high qualitygifts and one-of-a-kinditems forall ages and price points. This event is the AWCB's major annual fundraiser, providing critical funds for the Club's day-to-day operating and capital expenses. Volunteer Opportunities: Help is needed with every aspect of this event. Planning starts in April. Committees include: publicity, site management, vendor co-ordination, decorations, food & beverage, set-up and breakdown. Husbands are encouraged to join in this weekend event. WWG Yahoo Group Site

The WWG transitioned to a new Yahoo Group site in the winter of 2008 to facilitate and centralize communications within the WWG.

When someone has an idea for a gathering or event, she posts it on the site and people respond as they wish. This is how we've had dinners, book groups, and concert outings, and cooking classes, for example.

1) Go to the WWG Yahoo Group website:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Working_Women/
In the upper right corner is a blue button: "Join this Group". Follow the instructions and the moderator will grant you access.

If this doesn't work for some reason, then:
