Hope and Empowerment- FAWCO Fundraising Lunch

Women helping women- In honor of International Women's Day, the AWCB is proud to support Hope Beyond Displacement, the FAWCO* target project for 2017-19. 

 This community-based project educates, trains and empowers refugee women and girls living in the Hashemi Shamali neighborhood of Amman, Jordan. The support of member FAWCO clubs will allow the project to get 100 girls per year registered for school and to provide extra-curricular tutoring and leadership training. It will also support adult women with vocational training, and work with families to prevent gender-based violence. 

This lunch also represents a fantastic collaboration with other groups empowering women:

Our special guest speaker on women's education and empowerment represents a local shelter for survivors of gender-based violence. 

Our meal will be catered by Our House, a local, community-based project supporting refugees in Brussels with social integration, housing support, and language and skills training.
