What is Relay for Life?
Relay For Life is a festive event for all ages that focuses on solidarity and fund-raising for the fight against cancer. Over 24 hours, the community members mobilize themselves in order to:
- Celebrate and pay tribute to people that have conquered cancer, and support those that are still fighting the disease;
- Remember people that have lost their fight against cancer and support those still fighting the disease;
- Stand united in the fight against cancer.
Sponsored teams relay for 24 hours. The 24 hours are a symbol of the constant battle patients and their families must endure in the fight against the disease. Relay For Life is not a competition, but rather a gathering of communities united in the fight against cancer.
How can you participate?
Join our team - register here to join us in the relay! You can walk, run, or help man our tent - we will establish shifts as the event gets closer and even if you can only come for a short period, we would be thrilled to have you!
Help us plan - we will need help coordinating the schedule as well as items for fundraising at the event. Some preliminary ideas are making crafts from the Hearts for HOPE scraps, selling cookies, or some sort of interactive experience. Have an idea or want to help out? Let us know!
